Frequently Asked Questions
New to our practice? Here are the answers to some common questions you may have. If you don’t find what you’re looking for here, feel free to contact our office for more information.
Through our direct primary care (DPC) model, the patient pays a monthly fee directly to Click Family Healthcare. The fee covers common primary care services, which for most people is 85-90% of their healthcare needs. In short, Click cuts out insurance and provides you direct, one-to-one primary care. Click Family Healthcare does not participate in any insurance plans, which allows us to avoid the ever-increasing, costly documentation demands and administrative intrusions that come with accepting insurance. Our practice also avoids the onerous patient data collection responsibilities which many plans impose. These require staff, time and money and often amount to a substantial intrusion of patient privacy.
Because Click Family Healthcare avoids these obligations to insurance companies, we’re free to spend more time listening to and treating patients. And because Click eliminates the significant overhead costs of participating in insurance, we pass that savings on to our patients – and give compassionate, attentive and affordable care.
Click Family Healthcare offers a wide range of adult and family primary care services including, but not limited to:
- 24/7 communication via text, phone, and email
- Office visits
- Wellness exams
- School & sports physicals
- Preventative care
- Rapid strep, influenza, pregnancy testing, urinalysis, & EKGs
- Mental health services
- Simple sprain & fracture care
Other procedures are offered for a small added cost. Additional low-cost services include:
- Prescription medications
- Lab draws
- Women’s health procedures
- Minor procedures, including stitches, joint injections, etc.
- Simple dermatology including skin lesion removal, cryotherapy, etc.
Additional expense may be incurred for splints, casts, crutches or if tissue is sent for pathology. Any added costs are always discussed prior to the test or treatment being ordered.
Primary care services provided through Click Family Healthcare can address the vast majority of an individual’s health care needs. However, some services are not included in the membership. Patients are encouraged to combine their Click Family Healthcare membership with a high-deductible insurance policy to cover specialist physicians, emergency room and hospital services. A Click Family Healthcare membership does not cover the cost of such services as:
- Allergy testing
- Medical imaging
- Surgery
- Specialist care
- Emergency department visits
- Hospitalization
Your Click Family Healthcare provider will help you navigate the healthcare system when specialist services are required.
Yes and no. Click Family Healthcare does not replace insurance and encourages everyone to have catastrophic health coverage. There are many options for catastrophic coverage: high-deductible health insurance plans, major medical insurance plans or one of the many healthcare sharing plans (i.e. Sedera, Medishare, Samaritan Ministries, etc.).
Having a catastrophic plan provides a financial safety net should hospitalization or referral to specialists be necessary. Consult your insurance provider or ask us questions (we are not insurance agents but will do our best to answer your questions). And, we are happy to direct you to an insurance agent who can help you choose a plan that works best with our medical model and your specific needs.
Regardless of your situation—whether you have insurance or not—we at Click Family Healthcare will take care of you.
Since Click Family Healthcare does not accept insurance, your insurance will not pay for any services we provide. Your Click provider may be able to order labs, x-rays and medications at facilities preferred by your insurance if you would like. Our in-house pharmacy and lab are a convenient option for patients, but not a requirement.
Dr. Jacobsen is able to see Medicare-eligible customers. He requests all Medicare-eligible patients to schedule a “Meet and Greet” to make sure Click is the best option. Due to regulatory restrictions, Click Family Healthcare may not be an option for those who are eligible for Medicaid or other government health programs.
If you’re enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid, please contact our clinic to learn more.
Direct primary care (DPC) memberships may qualify as reimbursable through your health savings account (HSA) and may also qualify under the Affordable Care Act. Items such as medications, lab costs, etc. are eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Please contact the administrator of your HSA to determine whether your membership fees are reimbursable.
No, Click Family Healthcare is not only an urgent care clinic. Typically, at an urgent care clinic, you never get to see a physician as most are staffed by physician assistants or nurse practitioners, you have to wait a long time, you don’t have unlimited access to a healthcare team AND you have to pay per service. We are what an urgent care clinic should be, and so much more. We are a family medicine practice with the philosophy of treating our customers holistically, not simply as a symptom or disease. In short, we want to build a relationship with you, not just get you in and out as quickly as possible.
The Click team is available when you need us. If we are not in the clinic, you can reach us on our cell phone via text, call or email. Our commitment is to our patients, and we’re flexible to meet their needs.
There is no enrollment fee. Our fees are simple and straightforward.
Yes. Click Family Healthcare is happy to accept patients of all ages. Please note, children between 0-18 must have a member parent or guardian enrolled. If you are Medicare or Medicaid, please contact our office.
Please note: we provide pediatric well-visits for infants and children, but we cannot administer routine vaccinations. However, we can help you find a provider who can administer vaccines. Contact our office if you have any questions about pediatric well-visits and childhood vaccinations.
In the age of technology, many conditions can be diagnosed and treated via a simple conversation by phone, email or video conferencing. Members get 24/7/365 access to their providers, including by text message. That’s right – we’ll even give you our cell phone number!
If appropriate, Click Family Healthcare will locate the nearest pharmacy and order medication most suited for your circumstance. If you need to go to the hospital or seek other medical attention while away from home, our team is happy to advise and assist you in finding care.
Charges for prescriptions and labs are due at the time of service.
